Why is having a routine important to you? "I consider maintaining a consistent skincare routine to be similar to going to the gym. You can work out with a trainer once and feel great, however if you don’t continue to exercise…the results won’t last!"
What are your skincare goals? "At the age of 46, I’d say that anti-aging is one of the most important aspects for me. I’ve noticed that wearing less makeup tends to make women look and feel younger, so having skin that doesn’t require constant covering is definitely something I strive for. Growing up as a surfer in California, sun damage and melasma are issues I constantly deal with."
Gina's daily Routine:
"I like to cherry pick from different lines. I’m currently loving...
1. Cleanse with Ayur Medic’s Lemongrass Cleansing Gel.
2. Tone with Ayur Medic’s Vacha Toner. I’m really loyal to this toner. It’s extremely helpful bringing the skin’s pH balance back to normal after cleansing.

Are you loyal to any pro services or treatments? "Microchanneling and radio frequency treatments are a must for me. Microchanneling, sometimes referred to as microneedling, is wonderful for giving a nice 'plump' by causing the slightest bit of intentional damage to the skin, encouraging collagen and elastin production. Radio frequency is great for both the face and body. In my case, I like to have my lower face and eye area treated for lifting and tightening."
What treatments are you curious to try next? "I was recently introduced to microinfusion by a dermatologist friend of mine. She mixed a vial of her secret recipe—containing Botox, a very thin filler, vitamin C and glutathione—and literally stamped it all over my face. There was zero down time and my skin looked really refreshed and the pigmentation appeared more even."
Best skincare advice? "When I’m speaking with clients that struggle with sticking to a routine, I ask that they focus on at least washing their face at night—when your cells are working overtime to renew and repair—and skipping their morning protocols, if they have to. I’ve also suggested using micellar water on a cotton round if washing with water is too much.
I don’t believe in too many steps when it comes to a routine. I think that many people over use products and some lines recommend too many steps, which can actually prevent your skin from doing what it needs to do naturally."
What other healthy habits are part of your routine? "I’m a huge fan of juicing with ingredients from my garden like tomatoes, kale, peppers, spinach, basil, pineapple sage, mint....basically anything that's in season! And especially if they can be mixed with vodka on a Saturday night!"
